How selling to us works

Selling or trading coins, paper currency or bullion with us in the Rockmart area takes four steps. It starts with a few photos.

  1. Step 1: Send photos and a short description

    Messenger

Message us on our Facebook Page with clear photos of both sides of each item and a few words about what you have.

    Photo tips for clear pictures
    • Both sides of every coin or note.
    • Good, even light with no glare, and the item in sharp focus.
    • A plain, uncluttered background.
    • Close-ups of the date and mintmark on coins.
    • For loose silver coins, one photo of the edges (a short stack is fine).
    • Leave coins in their albums, flips, holders and Mint packaging, and photograph them that way. Don't open rolls; photograph the ends. Hold loose coins by their edges.
    • For graded coins and notes: the front and back of the holder label, including the certification number.
    • For bars and rounds: the stamped weight and purity.
    • For paper money: both sides, with the whole note in the frame and the serial numbers readable.
    • Your town and a short description of what you have.

Send photos in a private message, not as a comment on a public post. Your town is enough to start.

Please don't mail items to us. Start with photos. We never ask you to ship items or pay anything up front.

  2. Step 2: We discuss your items

    Messenger

We look over your photos and reply in the same chat. We may ask for another angle, a closer look at a date, or a little more detail.

Sending photos doesn't commit you to sell, and you can turn down any offer.

  3. Step 3: We arrange a time and place to look at them in person

    In person

If it makes sense to go further, we set up a time and place to inspect the items in person. For estates and large collections, we can come to you.

    Who can sell

Sellers must be 18 or older and should be ready to show a valid government-issued photo ID.

  4. Step 4: Any offer comes after verification

    In person

Once we've inspected and verified the items, we make an offer. You can turn down any offer.

Why offers follow an in-person inspection

Photos are a useful first step, but authenticity, condition and correct identification all affect the final offer, and they're best confirmed with the items in hand. That's why offers are made after an in-person inspection.

Copies are common, especially of Morgan and Trade dollars and older gold coins, some in fake grading holders. Many were bought in good faith. Every piece is checked in person before any offer.

Please don't clean coins or flatten notes before we see them. Cleaning can't be undone and can lower a coin's value to collectors.
