Who buys coins and gold in Villa Rica?
We do.
We buy coins, gold coins and old paper money from sellers in Villa Rica. Send photos and we'll talk it over.
1. Selling coins from Villa Rica
Villa Rica is about 25 miles from us in Rockmart. Send photos here on our website or on Facebook. Your town is enough to start.
Sending photos doesn't commit you to sell, and you can turn down any offer. If it makes sense to go further, we'll arrange a time and place to see the items in person. Offers are made after inspection.
- We never ask you to ship items or pay anything up front.
- For estates and large collections, we can come to you.
We pay cash.
2. What we buy, and what to send
Coins, silver, gold and old paper money, from a single piece to a whole collection, including Morgan and Peace dollars, proof and mint sets, graded coins, silver certificates and National Bank Notes.
Send a clear photo of both sides of each coin or note, the label of anything in a grading holder, your town and a few words about what you have. Don't clean anything. Cleaning can't be undone.
3. Villa Rica's bank
No national bank was chartered in Villa Rica in the years when national banks printed their own notes, 1863 to 1935. The town's bank was the Bank of Villa Rica, a state bank opened in 1899, which joined Regions Bank in 1996.
We buy National Bank Notes from any town, along with silver certificates, red seal notes and other older U.S. currency.
4. Villa Rica's gold
Villa Rica is Spanish for "rich village". The name was adopted in 1881 to promote the area's gold, and the first train came through the next year.
Gold was found here around 1830. The city dates it to the late 1820s; the New Georgia Encyclopedia gives 1830, at Pine Mountain just north of town. By 1832 the settlement, then called Hixtown, had at least 19 active gold mines, and the gold had largely run out by 1860. The Pine Mountain Gold Museum at Stockmar Park shows a stamp mill and lets visitors pan for gold.
We buy U.S. gold coins and other gold bullion coins. The silver and gold calculator gives a quick estimate for gold bullion coins, gold bars and rounds, and older U.S. gold coins. Leave out anything marked plated, layered, clad, replica or copy: it holds little or no gold.
Send photos of both sides of each coin, and we'll take a look.
