Who buys coins in Dallas, Georgia?

We do.

We buy coins and old paper money from sellers in Dallas and across Paulding County. Send photos and we'll talk it over.

1. Selling coins from Dallas

Dallas is about 15 miles from us in Rockmart. Send photos here on our website or on Facebook. Your town is enough to start.

Sending photos doesn't commit you to sell, and you can turn down any offer. If it makes sense to go further, we'll arrange a time and place to see the items in person. Offers are made after inspection.

  • We never ask you to ship items or pay anything up front.
  • For estates and large collections, we can come to you.

We pay cash.

2. What we buy, and what to send

Coins, silver, gold and old paper money, from a single piece to a whole collection, including Morgan and Peace dollars, proof and mint sets, graded coins, silver certificates and National Bank Notes.

Send a clear photo of both sides of each coin or note, the label of anything in a grading holder, your town and a few words about what you have. Don't clean anything. Cleaning can't be undone.

3. Dallas's national bank

Dallas had one national bank in the years when national banks issued their own notes, The First National Bank of Dallas, charter 12105. It was chartered in January 1922 from the Citizens Bank of Dallas, with J. F. Welch and then W. F. Byrd as president, but it never issued notes of its own.

The bank lasted long after that era. It became The First National Bank of Paulding County in 1974 and joined Regions Bank in 1996.

Banks in Rockmart, Cedartown, Cartersville and Marietta did issue notes, and those carry their towns' names. We buy National Bank Notes from any town, along with silver certificates, red seal notes and other older U.S. currency.

4. Paulding County's gold lots

Paulding County was created in 1832 from Cherokee land that Georgia divided into 40-acre gold lots and gave out by lottery that year. Miners found only modest amounts of gold nearby, at Lost Mountain.

Dallas, named for Vice President George Mifflin Dallas, was incorporated in 1854. The county's fortunes improved after 1882, when the East Tennessee, Virginia and Georgia Railroad built lines through it.

In May 1864 three battles were fought in Paulding County, at New Hope Church, Pickett's Mill and Dallas itself, and together they delayed the Union capture of Atlanta by at least a week. Pickett's Mill Battlefield Historic Site is one of the best-preserved Civil War battlegrounds in the country.

Coins or bills that came down in a Paulding County family? Send photos of both sides and we'll take a look.
